A fortune to ponder

A friend of mine posted the fortune that came with her lunch on Facebook. It read “Everything must have a beginning”. My reaction was “wow”.

**Before I continue let me state here that we can blame my therapist and eclectic reading on what follows**

After my initial reaction my mind ran with it. I went from wow to “Everything is a beginning and an ending” to “Every moment is a beginning, present and ending” and finally ended up at “every moment is its own universe”.

**This is what happens when I am waiting on a response to proceed at work. My head just runs wherever it pleases. **

Let me break my crazy little thoughts down.

·       Everything is a beginning and an ending: what I am learning in therapy and just in the growth process is that everything is connected. Every moment begins another. Every exhale is in preparation for an inhale. Every inhale is a new life beginning and every exhale is preparation for our final ending.

·       Every moment is a beginning, present and ending: No matter what we think all we have is this moment. All we have is that breath we just took or released. The past can’t be changed so it is just a line that was written and released. The future is not known so it is a figment of our imagination.

·       Every moment is its own universe: Each moment is a life of its own. These individual lives link one to another to create what we think of as time, experience and our lifetimes, but in reality all that is exists is this very moment. This moment is our universe.

So while everything must have a beginning, middle and ending in all reality it they are the same. Those are just words and nothing more. Just like this post.
