I am not one to announce my birthday, but I think today is a great day to acknowledge I’ve made it to 43 years on this earth. Not everyone is so lucky for a myriad of reasons.
This year is different for me as I am grateful. I have never enjoyed my birthday. I have clear memories from when I was a kid and wanting to ignore this day. Never been my favorite time of year.
This year I can acknowledge my blessings. That my life, the good and challenging, have made me the person I am today. Those experiences have gifted me with empathy, knowledge, patience and the ability to love what is here. My life experiences have given me something to write about! Mostly though my celebration this year makes me look forward to the next 43 years of experience.
Today take a moment to look past the annoying noise and recognize what you appreciate. Celebrate that you are here to experience it.
