Owning your truth: Feelings

I talk about owning your truth a lot. The reason is simply because I never understood the importance of it. You have to own your truth to heal from it. Part of the process is owning your feelings.

**major gasp heard. The closing of this post is expected, but before you do breathe and try to continue on**

Feelings can be scary for man of us. We live in a society where feelings are put to the side in preference of material solutions. We are witnesses to this approach failing every day and yet we persist with it. We find feelings scary, because they are messy. Feelings are raw, can be overwhelming and at times appear to be out of line with what they are in response to. There is a secret though. Dealing with our feelings allows us to grow and put pain behind us.

Okay, I get that it is hard to do. I mean, come on people, you are reading the musings of “Tears? Cry? Are you insane?” chick. That being said working with our feelings is important. We have to be able to feel to understand our truth and how it affects us. How else are we to come to terms with our lives? How can we have compassion for ourselves and others?

So the request for today is that you remember feelings are important. Go with them, feel them, and then question what is behind it. They are a natural part of us so learn to love and learn from them.

Peace and blessings.

  1. Imagine if we could capture the energy that people spend, in one day, stuffing their feelings down – we could light up the planet in more ways than one! good post dear one.
