One lesson; several teachers

English: Forest Path Following a path through ...

There is a lesson that I have been struggling with for most of my life. I have never allowed myself to follow my desires. This is especially true with my path in life. As I stated in “I’m done doubting” I am moving on from this.

Yesterday driving in to work I remembered a conversation I had with Jason the last week I saw him. He was telling me how he had planned to go back to school to get a degree in psychology so he could work with our returning veterans. What an honorable desire and path! The pain Jason felt for holding off on this path was obvious. This same lesson was given by Sean though with a different twist. Sean did what he wanted. If he had a dream or discovered a change in his path and he would adjust his course. He lived the life he wanted.

I have other teachers in my life with this lesson. My cousin Betty and her move to Arizona. My brother Don with his move to California and starting his own company is another. There are so many and yet that conversation with Jason followed by his passing brought it home finally. It is time to put the fear of failing aside and to move on my dreams. They may not happen overnight but the ground work will be laid in the coming weeks.

What is one lesson in life that repeated several times before you finally got it?

Peace and blessings!
