One day at a time

The phrase “one day at a time” is such a fantastic one. I love how you can change out the

word day for any measure of time. It is truly on one size fits all phrase. Why is that?

Simply because time is nonexistent. There is nothing that we are truly measuring. The idea of time is a construct we humans developed. I guess it makes sense in a way. Could you imagine trying to set up when to meet for lunch? Just the thought of that conversation makes my head hurt. We developed all measures of time to simplify our world and it did just that.

Unfortunately we have become slaves to the concept. This grand idea was supposed to make our lives easier and did. Now though we give the idea of time too much importance. We run our lives by it. We feel the need to make every moment count for something. It has to because this make believe concept has so much value. It is make believe. Don’t doubt that for a minute. All the values we assign in the in name time are false. The only true measure is “moment”. See that is all that we have. We may remember other moments or plan for future ones, but that is all that they are. Moments that we are living, have lived, or will live.

Today stop living by the imaginary and exist in this moment. Stop and appreciate what is here, right now. Once this moment is gone it will never come back.

Peace and blessings.
