Today was the first day back to real life after vacation. It wasn’t too bad. I was very surprised by this…. Okay, more like freaking shocked as I had a great vacation.
The vacation didn’t go exactly as planned. When I say it didn’t I mean none of it followed what was mapped out. Did I freak about this? Nope, instead I embraced it and went with the flow. Mom and I didn’t make it to New Jersey, because I simply didn’t have it in me. I was exhausted, my allergies were killing me and the babysitting of the Ry-man was planned. Since I haven’t been alone with a seven-year old in years I thought it wise to be well rested. Instead of crazy driving I did yard work and house work. This was mixed with napping. Yep, I know, you are jealous.
When I went to Michigan it was supposed to be me and Ry. As I was driving up, Jenn was taking Ry to the doctor where we discovered he has asthma. This resulted in Jenn staying home. I have to say it was the best visit to Michigan in a crazy long time. Jenn and I had some much-needed girl time and many heart to hearts. Ry and I played video games, watched cartoons, and bonded. Was it the plan? Not even close. Was it better? You better believe it.
Coming home I went to Gaiafest on Saturday. This event is sponsored by the Grove of Gaia and is fabulous. I went with Dan, Beth and Nick and the day was incredible! Great food, conversation, vendors, music and seeing folks I haven’t seen in a while. In the middle I had to get my hair and nails done. Was that part of the original plan? Nope, but it worked out great. The location for Gaiafest was crazy close to my salon and I got some great pampering done. The bonus was the conversation with Michelle who did my nails. Awesome!!!
This vacation was planned to the minute, but by being flexible I was able to enjoy every minute it and learn so many things. I would not change it for the world.
Peace and blessings! I am happy to be back.
sounds marvelous. I think that the more we learn to go with the flow rather than allowing ourselves to be frustrated when things don’t happen as planned, the more we can relax and enjoy what is! Blessings and peace my friend.
I totally agree with you Joss! Peace and blessings by friend!
We missed you!
