Saying goodbye to a friend

Yesterday I found out that I lost a co-worker and friend. His name was Ken and was a fantastic man. Out of the whole team that he worked on he was my favorite.

As a co-worker Ken had amazing amount of knowledge. That comes with all the years he was in the telecommunications business. His knowledge base was amazing. He was also always willing to share it. No questions asked.

The other side of Ken was his friendship. When Sean was alive he always listened to my stories. When Sean died he was right there for me. Working on two different coasts made our friendship long distance, but that didn’t matter. The first time we saw each other after Sean was KIA Ken and I had dinner together. That dinner meant the world to me. Ken was in Vietnam so his perspective was different than many. His experience allowed him to offer a form of compassion that many can’t.

I will miss Ken. I will miss him on so many levels, but most of all I will the compassion he offered to all that he met.

Rest easy Ken. May your journey be peaceful and full of love my friend.

Peace and blessings.
